#WIAW Whole30 Days 5-10 {This really isn’t so bad}

***Today I am doubling up on posts. I need to give you all an update on my Whole30 journey and I also like supporting Jenn with WIAW love. So the top portion of this post is a full W30 update and after ALL THE WORDS, I am showing you my eats for Day 7.***

I timed my Whole30 to start on a Friday and occur mostly during my Spring Break because I feared that I would feel horrible at work if I had to spend the first week or so super hangry!

Luckily, that never happened. In fact, I have never been LESS hangry. Don’t think you went crazy – you read that right. I have not been hangry ONCE on my Whole30!

Days 5-7 were spent at work and I felt great all 3 days. It was also a very busy week at work, so I think having to focus on that made the Whole30 experience that much easier.

Here is the journal I am keeping…I think it’s almost more important that I journal how I am feeling {SO MANY FEELINGS} over what I eat. I’ll write more about it close to the end of my 30 days, but I am really starting to disconnect how I feel to what I eat. HUGE win!

Day 5 {March 31 – Tuesday}
FEELINGS: Slept like crap. Had horrible acid reflux. Possibly pulled pork? Take notes after lunch today to see if I have the same issues. After lunch noticed a small amount of heartburn….possibly the pineapple used to sweeten the BBQ sauce.
M1: Roasted sweet potato w/ veggies & sausage topped with 2 eggs. 6 strawberries &¼ of an avocado
M2: Pulled Pork w/ Whole30 compliant BBQ Sauce on lettuce leaves.
M3: Taco Lettuce Wraps {ground beef, onions & bell peppers}

Day 6 {April 1 – Wednesday}
FEELINGS: Slept like a baby. Sensitive at times today. Cried at night while listening to a John Mayer song. ← This also could have been a hormonal side effect.
M1: Roasted SP w/ veggies & sausage topped with 2 eggs. 6 strawberries &¼ of an avocado
M2: Taco Lettuce Wraps {ground beef, onions & bell peppers}
M3: Wild Planet tuna mixed w/ avocado & spices on lettuce wraps.

Day 7 {April 2 – Thursday}
FEELINGS: Another great day! I was so busy at work that it seriously flew by.
M1: Roasted sweet potato w/ veggies & sausage topped with 2 eggs. 6 strawberries &¼ of an avocado
M2: Taco Salad {ground beef, onions & bell peppers}
M3: Tri-tip with broccoli & sweet potato
Snack: LaraBar before yoga

 Day 8 {April 3 – Friday}
FEELINGS: Felt sluggish in the morning, but had a great day out at Half Moon Bay.
M1: Roasted sweet potato w/ veggies & sausage topped with 2 eggs. 6 strawberries &¼ of an avocado
M2: Tri-tip lettuce wraps
M3: Tri-tip lettuce wraps
Snack: 1 LaraBar & 1 date with almond butter

Day 9 {April 4 – Saturday}
FEELINGS: Tired. Sasha woke me up to go out. Could have slept longer.
M1: 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon & 6 strawberries
M2: pulled pork lettuce wraps
M3: Mahi Mahi with sweet potato and brussel sprouts
Snack: 1 venti black iced coffee {added my own canned coconut milk}

Day 10 {April 5 – Sunday}
FEELINGS: Super groggy in the morning {switched melatonin brands the night before} Felt better as day went on, but still tired. Aim to go to sleep earlier tonight. {I did}
M1: 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon & 6 strawberries
M2: Tri-tip, green beans with mushrooms and onions & sweet potato
M3: About ¼ cup pulled pork with some lettuce leaves.
Snack: strawberries & blueberries with coconut milk whip cream

Gary grilled up some tri-tip while I was at yoga class, so all I had to do when I got home was heat up some sweet potatoes and frozen broccoli.

I know I keep saying it in these posts, but overall I feel GREAT doing the Whole30!  It’s not restrictive at all {except…ahem…wine} and I have never felt more satisfied after eating meals.

      HA HA HA Definitely no wine for Tornado yet! I would try it {with a few tweaks like you said} during an extended break from school. If you do, let me know how it works! 🙂

  2. Great job! I didn’t know that Larabar flavor was compliant (I even did a google search because I just couldn’t believe it haha). You food looks great, yum. Keep on keeping on 🙂

      I didn’t believe it at first either!! I try to only have one when I am starving with no other options. It’s not super sweet either, but the longer I do this Whole30 the less sweet I can handle!

      I set the log up as a google doc and gave my work e-mail access, since we use google drive for everything there. It made it much easier to take notes, even during work hours. lol

  9. I can honestly say I have never had the HANGRIES once, since I did my first Whole 30 in January 2013. Love love the way I sleep and feel when I am following Paleo.

      Thank you! Yes…I figured the acid reflux was from eating too close to bedtime and the pineapple I added to the sauce to sweeten it.

  15. I’ve been thinking long and hard about doing an elimination diet to see if it helps with my ongoing, never ending, totally annoying stomach issues. The only thing that’s holding me back is that I’m a vegetarian and don’t think I can survive off what I’d be allowed to eat. Does whole 30 have a vegetarian/vegan friendly plan?

  17. Whole 30 kind of scares me cuz I’m pretty sure I won’t be able to hack it. I kind of have a problem with authority/being told what to do and making foods off limit would be a surefire way for me to crave them haha

  19. Hmm, this week has felt uninspired in the kitchen but last week I made some great shrimp lettuce wraps with ginger peanut sauce. Whole 30 sounds like a great plan for eating and it you are doing well!
