Crock Pot Tomato BBQ Short Ribs

After reading about Julie’s Crock Pot Challenge {where she also linked to my Slow Cooker Lasagna} I got excited thinking of some new crock pot recipes.

I LOVE crock pot recipes!  Anything that basically cooks itself is a great meal in my mind.

So when I saw we had short ribs in the freezer, I knew I wanted to use them in a new crock pot recipe.

This will take you less than 15 minutes to prep and cooks in your crock pot within hours.

Crock Pot Tomato BBQ Short Ribs (4-6 servings)

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 pounds boneless short ribs
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (I use Kinder’s)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 tsp. parika
  • 2 tsp. garlic
  • S&P (to your liking)

Directions:

  • Mix BBQ sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste and spice in medium bowl
  • Lay short ribs in your crock pot
  • Cover short ribs with sauce mixture
  • Cook on Low 6-8 hours or High 3-4 hours
  • Serve over a bed of spinach & quinoa
  • ENJOY!

  1. Sounds and looks delish!!! Will have to try it. I have one pack of shirt ribs left from our 1/4 side, and usually just make the Pioneer Woman’s braised short ribs. But a crockpot meal will work great for a work day!

  3. I was searching for a crock pot recipe, yours was the simplest. Decided to try it. Good decision. My whole family loved it! Even my kids! I added a bit of celery and my husband added potatoes. It was a hit! Thank you for sharing your recipe!

    • Thanks for letting me know that you liked the recipe! The celery and potatoes sound like a great addition! :)
